I live not far from the Hawley Arms where Amy Winehouse used to go. The bathrooms are full of messages to her. Excuse the unsightly flash.

Draperies, Furnishings, Boats?
I always notice this building on Camden High Street on my bus ride home but have never managed to grab a picture of it until now. The building doesn't hold this home furnishings company any more. I think there's an Argos there, probably an HSBC Bank, etc. But I like that they kept the rather pretty tile work in place. Too bad I had to snap this picture through the bus window and so it's not the best quality. Maybe when I have more time someday (and a bit of sun?), I'll stop back and shoot it again.

Déjà vu
You might recall this image a few weeks back of the East End as seen from a flat in North London. This is that same view on a foggy day not long ago. Needless to say, I drank a lot of tea and listened to some excellent moody music on that day.

A.D. 1995
There are a few rows of these housing units on a street near my house. I found them quite charming and reminiscent of small English villages. The style fits in well with all the Victorian rowhouses. But notice the cornerstone at the top of the building which reads A.D. 1995. Buildings like this fascinate me: they obviously tore something down in order to build a brand new building that was deliberately meant to look old. What genuinely old building did they have to bulldoze in order to build this one?

Far off financial district
A view of central London (can you see the curved, conical top of the Gherkin?) as seen from a flat in North London.
