Urban Physic Garden

The new Urban Physic Garden in Southwark boasts herbs to treat all sorts of complaints. It's a beautifully repurposed urban space with very knowledgeable herbologists who have a lot of information (and free food samples!) that they are willing to share. Not to be missed.

More shots of the garden to follow.

Tower Bridge rising

I have a new job and--lucky me--this is the view I had out my window yesterday. Atmospheric rain and everything.

Under Construction

When I saw that the June Theme Day over at City Daily Photo was "Under Construction," I squealed with joy. I'll jump at any opportunity to post pictures of my beloved Shard.

I hated this building when I first saw it under construction, but it has slowly worked its charms upon me, and now I think I can safely say I am a Shard convert. I cannot wait until it's finished. I'll be the first to take the elevator to the top.

Here we see the Shard peaking over the top of Southwark Cathedral.

willenkate

It's finally D-Day. Wills and Kate are gettin' hitched today! I hope they have these "Let Them Eat Cake" cupcakes at their reception. Wish me luck as I brave the throngs for a glimpse of something--anything!--this afternoon.

The Shard Progresses

So, pretty much I'm obsessed with the Shard. I just see it everywhere these days and am consumed by its progress. But it occurred to me a few days ago that I don't actually know how much it has progressed since I first noticed it. I see it almost everyday and so the change has been gradual.

Snapped the top photo a few days ago and now I can compare it to the one below which I took in December.
