Stonehenge
A get-away to Stonehenge! If you decide to visit this famous heritage site, can I suggest that you take the time to walk across the fields as part of your trip? Take the ancient Avenue once walked by the neolithic people who built the henge. It makes for quite a beautiful and overwhelming experience. Much more impressive than parking in an English Heritage car park, shoving your way past other tourists to look at the stone for two minutes, and then all piling back in the car. Make a day of it and visit Avebury, Stonehenge's sister site!

Super shot! I'll remember that tip if I get there next year.
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful but to see it in person must be even better. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteNice photo Molly, have to agree with you, so many people do not get the full flavour of this impressive site. When I was a boy you get up close and touch the stone.
ReplyDeleteI went to Stonehenge years ago, I am going to have to go back and appreciate it again! Thanks for the advice:))
ReplyDeleteGreat advice -- thank you! And beautiful shot -- from that perspective, one feels transported bacward in time rather than inundated by the present.
